The arrival of Cuban tourism specialists in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to share experiences within the framework of a bilateral agreement between both countries was announced by a local media outlet.
A report in the newspaper "One News SVG" reported the arrival of the group of Cuban experts, who will exchange with their local counterparts with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of the tourism sector in key areas such as front desk operations, culinary arts, massage therapies, and others.
The program is aimed at instructors, technical evaluators, supervisors, and workers in the sector, with the objective of raising service standards in the tourism industry of both countries.
The initiative stems from the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 between the governments of Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Minister of Tourism of Saint Vincent, Carlos James, highlighted that "this collaboration reflects our commitment to excellence in service and solidarity between our nations."
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to that Caribbean nation, Carlos Rodríguez Etcheverry, expressed that the project reflects the solidarity and Caribbean unity between both countries.
He stressed the importance of sharing knowledge and best practices in tourism and hospitality, "not to teach, but to exchange experiences and support the development of a more competitive and inclusive tourism sector."
Rodríguez highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves in these initiatives and reaffirmed the commitment of the Cubans to work with dedication and heart to strengthen this lasting alliance.
