It’s likely that there isn’t a home in Cuba that doesn’t have an INPUD appliance. The company is famous for its production of varied, high quality domestic appliances.
Founded on July 24, 1964 the Empresa Industrial Nacional Productora de Utensilios Domésticos “1ro. de Mayo” (INPUD), located in the central Cuban province of Villa Clara, is well known across the country for producing home appliances such as gas stoves, refrigerators, pressure cookers, fans and electric cookers among other items.
The company’s general director Marisol Montero told CubaPlus that INPUD’s main outputs are “domestic and industrial products, tools, plastic products, low-voltage electrical products and products for specialized sectors such as infrastructure, the hospitality industry and other services.”
“We work to strengthen our presence in the home through sales to Foreign Exchange Collection Stores and other market sectors, promoting import substitution and increasing competitiveness in the domestic market and for export,” she said.
She elaborated on the range of goods the company manufactures and markets, which also include industrial products such as tools, plastic containers and other products, disposable plastic products, material for electrical installations, lighting, non-ferrous metal castings, specialized products for tourism infrastructure and catering as well as spare parts for their products.
INPUD also exports its products to the Caribbean and Latin American markets, showing the standards of quality and competitiveness of its professionally manufactured products.
