Artists from 17 Countries to Attend November Photography Event in Cuba

Approximately 200 photographers from 17 countries will participate in the 19th edition of the "Noviembre Fotográfico" (November Photography) event, which will showcase their work in various exhibition spaces throughout the Cuban capital starting on November 1st.

Convened by the Fototeca de Cuba (Cuban Photo Library) under the slogan "Keep Searching in Places Where There is Nothing," this international gathering of imagery promises a renewed and engaging program for admirers of this visual art form.

According to the event organizers, 128 Cuban photographers and 74 foreign artists have confirmed their participation, representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Spain, Russia-France, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, Venezuela, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay, and Ecuador.

Joining the competition as invited guests are 21 individual artists and 14 collective projects. The Cuban provinces of Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Camagüey, and Guantánamo will contribute relevant projects to the event.

At a recent press conference, photographer and director of the Fototeca de Cuba, Lissette Solórzano, announced that this year's edition will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Canada. The agenda also includes an exhibition dedicated to Brazilian photographer and anthropologist Pierre Verger at Factoría Habana and a colloquium in tribute to the centennial of the Cuban master photographer Raúl Corrales at the Ludwig Foundation.

Urban interventions will also take place in the Plaza Vieja to celebrate the 506th anniversary of Havana, alongside the digital interview program "Countdown," whose capsules will be disseminated on social media.

This edition will recognize the work of young talents who have embraced photography as a lifestyle and the means through which they reveal a beautiful, complex, or radiant environment.
