Award-Winning Hotel Nacional de Cuba Recognized for Luxury Excellence

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba, considered the flagship establishment of the country's hotel industry, has just received the World Luxury Hotel Award and the World Luxury Restaurant Award, recognizing its excellence within the luxury sector.

According to information released by the Ministry of Tourism's publication, Sol de Cuba, these significant accolades, established in 2006, distinguish excellence in the luxury hotel, restaurant, travel, and spa industries. Winners are determined by votes cast by international travelers.

The awards ceremony, held in Madrid, was attended by the hotel's General Director, Luis Miguel Díaz Sánchez, who received the prestigious awards.

These awards aim to celebrate and honor the best in the luxury sector while promoting international recognition for outstanding brands and services.

This Cuban accommodation, belonging to the Gran Caribe hotel group, is located very close to the Havana Malecón, and from different parts of the establishment, you can observe beautiful views of the sea, the Morro (fortress), and the entrance to the capital's bay.

Approaching its 95th anniversary - December 30th - the hotel hosts transcendental international events each year, including the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema and the International Wine Festival.

Likewise, throughout its years of excellent service, it has served as accommodation for more than one hundred heads of state, while having hosted multiple national and foreign personalities, including the historical leader Fidel Castro, the heroic guerrilla fighter Ernesto "Che" Guevara, the great chess master, José Raúl Capablanca; Gary Cooper, Johnny Weissmuller, Erroll Flynn, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Rita Hayworth, María Félix, Jorge Negrete, and Agustín Lara.

These awards add to the long list of recognitions achieved by this establishment for its excellence in its more than 9 decades of operations, among which is the award as a World Memory status at the National level granted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
