Photographer José Meriño (Tito), lens professional of Prensa Latina News Agency and magazines Cubaplus and Cubaplus Latinos, was awarded the Special Mention of the Prize Juan Gualberto Gomez for his excellent work in the year 2018.
The announcement was made by the jury of that award, given every year by the Cuban Journalists Union (UPEC), formed by prestigious professionals of the sector.
Tito, as his work colleagues affectionately call him, has worked 32 years as a photographer, was founder of weekly &El Habanero", was part of the staff of &trabajadores" weekly and works at present in Prensa Latina and magazines Cubaplus and Cubaplus Latinos.
