Blue Diamond Resorts Reaffirms: Cuba Remains Open to the World and Ready to Welcome Visitors

Canadian hotel group Blue Diamond Resorts has issued an official statement emphasizing that “Cuba remains open to the world, welcoming those who choose the island for its beaches, its culture, and above all, its people.”

Amid the country’s current circumstances and as part of a national operational realignment, certain hotel facilities have been temporarily closed to consolidate operations within properties that remain open and fully functional, the document explains.

Currently, only five of the approximately 60 hotels operated by the company on the island have been closed since February 7, with one additional closure scheduled for February 18. The affected properties include Resonance Santa Maria, Resonance Marea, Memories Paraíso, Villa Marina, Villa Natura, and Resonance Santa Lucía. Guests with existing reservations at these locations need not worry; they will be relocated to other hotels within their chosen destination, ensuring all appropriate standards and conditions are met.

The note clarifies that all operational facilities are equipped with independent power generation systems and secured fuel supplies to maintain hotel activity. Furthermore, the provision of food, beverages, and essential supplies is guaranteed, alongside necessary sanitary and hygiene materials. All hospitality and service protocols remain strictly aligned with Blue Diamond Resorts' international standards.

Company executives further stated: “We continue to work in close coordination with our partners and relevant authorities, and we will keep you informed of any significant updates. Our commercial team remains at your disposal to address specific inquiries and assist with reservation management.”

Finally, the Canadian entity expressed its gratitude to guests for their understanding, ongoing support, and, most importantly, their continued trust in both Cuba and Blue Diamond Resorts.
