The 14th Havana Biennial was considered a great success, after just over 5 months of activities with the presence of some 655 artists from 30 countries on 4 continents.
According to information offered this Thursday, by way of summary, by the Vice Minister of Culture, Fernando Rojas, 484 national artists and 171 foreigners participated in this meeting of the arts, who were directly linked to the activities as creators or speakers of the different theoretical events, virtual or face-to-face, that were held in the different sub-venues of the country.
During the biennial, more than 71 main events were held, of which 58 were visual arts exhibitions. In addition to this, there were numerous theoretical meetings, murals, performances and actions of an environmental nature, such as planting trees and cleaning rivers.
Something that is important to highlight is that over 150 activities were conceived directly to favor the approach of art to the community, the formation of the public and the protection of the environment, he pointed out.
During the duration of this important cultural meeting, which had 9 provinces of the country as sub-venues, some 120 exhibitions and relevant visual arts activities were developed.
It is estimated that more than 1,000,500 people interacted as a public in this XIV edition of the biennial, which shows the favorable balance that this event had due to the diversity of its actions, both in exhibition halls and in open spaces.

In essence, in the opinion of most of the participants, both artists and the general public, the massive presence of spectators in this meeting evidenced the interest of the Cuban population in art.
