The Floridita will open up a franchise in Mexico

The famous Cuban bar-restaurant " Floridita " will open its franchise in a central place of the Mexico’s capital in the first half of the year very close to the popular Basilica de la Virgen de Guadalupe (Basilica of the Guadalupe virgin). 

This event is possible by virtue of an agreement signed among the Cuban company Palmares and the group M of Mexico and according to the franchise’s director, Angel Fernandez it aspires to achieve that the replica of the famous restaurant be truly the " Floridita ", in a central place, located about two kilometers of the popular Basilica of Guadalupe. 

To achieve that purpose the staff that going to work in the Mexican Floridita: cooks, chefs, barmans and maitres will be Cuban or trained by skilled schools of the island. 

We want that this place looks, feels and smells a hundred percent to Cuba and keeps its flavor in all the senses, the owner of M group, Eduardo Gómez affirmed. 

The idea is to make equal to the bar placed in Old Havana since 1817 with similar furniture, interior design, colors, facade and decorations in the new facility, the Mexican manager added. 

Known in the entire world as The cradle of the daiquiri, the bar restaurant "Floridita" celebrated last year 200 years of having been founded and it receives about 250 thousand visitors annually, most of them coming from the United States. 

The North American writer and literature Nobel Prize Ernest Hemingway, made of this restaurant his second " house ", while he lived in Cuba, and consequently in the bar of the symbolic facility there is a statue of this great daiquiri lover. 

Palmares group has about ten franchise of others renewed bars and restaurants managed by itself like the Bodeguita del Medio, famous for the mojitos, or the Gato Tuerto, built with similar design and features in diverse countries, included Mexico.
