Guyana Unveils National Jewelry Brand "El Dorado Reimagined"

Guyana’s national gold and jewelry brand, "El Dorado Reimagined," was officially launched on Friday as part of the country’s 60th Independence Anniversary celebrations, according to local media reports.

Speaking at the event, President Dr. Irfaan Ali stated that the country is decisively moving beyond exporting raw gold, pivoting instead toward value-added manufacturing and global brand positioning.

“Tonight represents more than the launch of a brand; it represents Guyana taking ownership of its history, its resources, and its future. For generations, our gold left these shores primarily as raw material. Today, we are demonstrating to the world that Guyana is fully capable of refining, manufacturing, and exporting products of excellence,” the President emphasized.

He further noted that this initiative is part of a broader government push to position Guyana as a world-renowned hub for high-quality gold and jewelry manufacturing. This effort aims to retain value domestically, expand opportunities for Guyanese by supporting local craftsmanship, and build an internationally respected identity for Guyanese gold.

The ceremony was attended by government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, miners, jewelers, and private sector representatives associated with the industry.
