Tribute 2020 is the new rum of the collection of renowned Cuban brand Havana Club that was officially presented at the Rum Museum, in Havana.
This new addition to the emblematic brand is the fifth in a series of limited editions, created from the best reserves of old rums at Havana Club as a tribute to the unparalleled excellence in rum production. With Tribute 2020, Havana Club also shows the variety and richness of flavors, colors and aromas of the authentic Cuban rum.
The new spirit, whose production will total 2,500 bottles, pays homage to the unique process of successive aging and mixing, carefully carried out according to tradition, transmitted by the Masters of Cuban rum.
The new delicacy of Havana Club is the work of the Cuban Rum Master, Asbel Morales, who, in a press conference, explained the process of preparing the 2020 Tribute, resulting of the mixture of a small amount of exquisite reserves from previous editions of Tribute ( 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) saved and aged again and then mixed with a unique rum, extracted from an extraordinary batch of 100 exclusive barrels, which has never been released.
Tribute 2020 has a very deep amber cherry color, an aroma of nuts, caramel, bitter chocolate with notes of pears and old leather, spices and a subtle aroma of aged tobacco. It has an exquisite dry and sweet taste at the same time, ultra- concentrated on the palate.
The bottle is presented in a luxurious mahogany box with Art Deco style references and will be available in Cuba in more than 20 stores starting next March at a price of 400 Euros. A total of 350 bottles of 70 cl. will be destined to be sold in specialized stores in Cuba, including Casas del Habano, as well as in high standard hotels, according to Ahmed &Aálvarez, director of sales and marketing in Cuba.
Tribute 2016, the first edition of the series, paid tribute to the knowledge of rum masters, Tribute 2017 honored sugar cane and the Cuban brandy; Tribute 2018 to the leading role of the barrel in the productive process of the rums of Havana club and Tribute 2019 recognized the passion, knowledge and collaboration of three generations of Rum masters: Don José Navarro (First Master of the Cuban rum), Asbel Morales and Salomé Alemán , first woman Master of rum.
In the press conference, attended by numerous representatives of the national and foreign press accredited in Cuba, as well as Christian Barre, general director of Havana Club International S.A.
The joint venture Havana Club Internacional S.A. was created in 1993 between Cuba Ron S.A. and the French group Pernod Rricard. The brand is third in the world, excluding the United States and is a leader in super Premium and higher rums.
