The Facilitation Office of the Historic Center of Havana (OFA) is working with the issuers of the Classic (Fincimex) and Tropical (Bandec) cards to add loyalty programs for cardholders, which will enable them to receive personalized service when visiting cultural and historical centers in the country's heritage cities.
In a conversation with CubaPLUS, regarding the presentation of the cards during this Thursday's International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2025), the director of the OFA, Eugenio Fernando Acosta, explained that "we have started in Havana's Historic Center, where access to the most visited attraction today, the Havana Club Rum Museum, with one of these cards, whose special issue is called Clásica OFA and Tropical OFA, constitutes a kind of pass that provides personalized attention.
An exclusive reception, a personalized guided tour, a welcome cocktail, a gift on behalf of Havana Club for the group leader, and the possibility of tasting Premium Rums with a companion on another date are the personalized services the Museum offers to holders of the special issues of Clásica since the city's anniversary and which are now extended to the BANDEC Tropical card, Acosta said.
On that basis, he continued, the Morro Cabaña Military Historical Park also adds the possibility of providing personalized service to Tropical OFA cardholders, and in that sense, we have balanced the possibility of providing a personalized experience to the holders of both cards with what will provide better experiences for those who visit the center.
You could say that the holder of one of these cards today is a host. So, after receiving a better experience, that person shares it with other visitors. That is the challenge that OFA faces today with card issuers.
That is, to integrate personalized services for a better visit, will make it easier for visitors to access these places. Now, the executive further noted, work is also underway to add the Habaguanex hotel facilities and integrate the Habana Bus Tour (City Tour) tourist bus with the Rum Museum, where the ticket plus the specially issued card will provide personalized service.
Everything is based on that subjective possibility we have to generate a welcome and a better experience for visitors. The cards, the executive concluded, are very stable because, in addition to being a financial solution that can generate discounts, they also represent a customer service solution.
We believe this ease of use is a merit that can be attributed to our very national creativity, a very Cuban way of making the payment method also a pass.
