Cuba: Tourism Minister Confident of Strong 2025-2026 Season

"We believe that the 2025-2026 winter season will be a strong one. We have high expectations," stated Cuba's Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, during an engagement with over 100 travel agents and specialized press in Canada, according to Sol de Cuba. Speaking at an event titled "Cuba Única Commercial Appreciation Night" at the Illuminarium Toronto, García Granda based his assessment on the sector's new strategy, which involves hotel companies establishing their own enterprises for supply procurement.

This flight marks the inaugural arrival of Canadian tourists at the Frank País International Airport in Holguín following the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Melissa on October 29th, all of which has since been meticulously repaired. According to tourism authorities, Holguín remains a favored Cuban destination for Canadians, celebrated for its magnificent beaches, spectacular natural landscapes, and rich history. Recognized as the island's third-leading tourist destination, Holguín boasts 40 kilometers of breathtaking coastline, three national natural parks – including the UNESCO World Heritage site, Alejandro de Humboldt National Park (shared with Guantánamo Province, declared in 2001) – and the largest aboriginal cemetery in the Antilles, El Chorro de Maíta, which safeguards invaluable testimonies of the country's aboriginal history.
