Cuba and Guyana agree to exchange knowledge and experiences in agriculture

Cuba and Guyana have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration in the areas of agriculture and plant products, livestock and animal products, beekeeping, forestry, among others of interest to the sector.


The document was signed by the island's ambassador to Guyana, Jorge Francisco Soberón and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Delma Nedd , to purpose of being held at the Arthur Chung Conference Center (ACCC), in Georgetown on Agri-Food Investment Forum and Exhibition 2023.


During the signing ceremony, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance of this agreement to strengthen relations between both countries. For his part, the Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture, Madanlall Ramraj said this collaboration will be beneficial for his country, especially to reduce regional food imports, while it meant that in the case of beekeeping, Guyanese workers in the sector in various regions of the nation will receive valuable support from Cuban specialists.


The exhibition, which concluded this Sunday, was developed under the motto “Achieving vision 25 for 2025” with the objective of reducing regional food imports through promotion of accelerated and specific investments
