The CubaPLUS/CARICOM and CubaPLUS/Guyana magazines have been pleasantly received by professionals and the general public attending the GuyExpo 2023 fair that ends this Sunday at the Sophia Exhibition Complex in Georgetown, as they consider them extremely important to know the work of the countries of the region in different areas of economic and social life.

According to some readers, the publications provide extensive information on important topics that we, the readers, are interested in knowing. The development of tourism, the customs, the traditions of our people, how we work and strive to build a better country, several interlocutors agreed. Both magazines are present at the fair at the Guyana Ministry of Tourism stand, who kindly welcomed the initiative to present for the first time those publications that, according to its General Director, Dominic Soave, were founded with the support of the authorities of CARICOM and Guyana, respectively.

Precisely during the first day of the meeting, the Prime Minister of Guyana, Mark Phillips –in his capacity as interim president-, visited the stand of the Ministry of Tourism, together with the head of the sector Oneidge Walrus and the Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority Kamrul Baksh, who welcomed both publications.

CubaPLUS/Guyana emerged a year ago at the initiative of its General Director and with the support of the Guyanese authorities, among them the ambassador of that nation in Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Halim Majeed, who in this regard noted: “this launch coincides with the 50th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the great nations of the Republic Cooperative of Guyana and the Republic of Cuba. In this regard, CubaPLUS Guyana must be seen as a demonstration of the lasting relationship between these two friendly countries.”

CubaPLUS/CARICOM has just gone on the market as a publication that will fill a space of information, dedicated to promoting the work of tourism, the economy, culture, customs and traditions that unite all the peoples of the Caribbean. GuyExpo 2023 concludes this Sunday, after four successful days of work, during which more than 250 exhibitors from Guyanese entities have been able to show their products and services with the purpose of making known everything that the country is doing in favor of its development.
