Saint Lucia to Host the First Latin American Market Summit of the CTO

Saint Lucia will be the venue for the inaugural Latin American Market Summit of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), scheduled to take place from May 5 to 6, 2027. This announcement was made at the recently concluded World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America in Brazil.

The summit is expected to have a significant impact on Caribbean nations, as its primary aim is to connect key stakeholders in the region's tourism sector with their counterparts in Latin America.

The event will bring together leading airlines, tour operators, and media representatives, fostering a deeper understanding of the market. It will also focus on analyzing and identifying deficiencies related to air connectivity within the CTO, with particular attention given to new direct routes to and from Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.

Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, expressed his honor in hosting this gathering, noting that it aligns with the island's objectives for sustainable economic growth.

Meanwhile, CTO Secretary General Dona Regis-Prosper stated that the summit in Saint Lucia will enable the organization to "transform ideas into actions," benefiting all member countries through enhanced regional collaboration.

Notably, the summit is set to take place just before the legendary Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, allowing delegates to experience and learn about the island's "Orange Economy," a movement aimed at promoting its cultural and creative industries.
