The Canadian hotel chain Blue Diamond Resorts continues to bet on Cuba, evidenced by the next openings that will take place in the southern city of Trinidad, a World Heritage Site, and Cayo Coco,

In a chat with CubaPLUS Magazine, during a tour of the specialized press to several hotels managed by the company in Varadero, Mohamad Fawzi González, General Director of Blue Diamond Resorts Cuba, referred to the new projects of the entity.

In Trinidad, he said, we are planning Mystique Palacio de Iznaga, which is a wonderful building in the center of the city, out of the ordinary. In principle, it was planned for 2022 but it still has a bit to go, as we are working on it.

“Another wonderful work will be in Cayo Coco. There we are in the  preliminary finals. We are going to have the best product that has been developed in this country. It will be a Royalton with all its benefits in one of the most beautiful beaches in Cayo Coco”, he said. When answering a question about the importance that his company confers to business in Cuba, given that Canada is the first emitter of tourists to the island, one of the reasons why the Gaviota group opted in 2011 for our company and it was very good.

"It is a great honor for us to have been the first Canadian tourism company that has reached agreements with Cuba," he stressed. He later referred to the importance of this destination for his entity and pointed out that the company has 45 hotels in the Caribbean and 50% of the beds are in Cuba.

We opened Memories Caribe in 2011 with 328 rooms and we currently have almost 9 thousand, which shows the relevance this island has for Blue Diamond. The tour carried out on November 15, through several hotels of the Canadian entity included the inauguration of Mystique Casa Perla, first of the Blue Diamond brand in Cuba. The coincidence of the inauguration of Casa Perla with the reopening of borders in the country will go down in history. It will be as a tribute for that important event and will remain for posterity as a happy birthday, he considered.
