A Business Forum, serving as an alternative to the traditional ExpoCaribe exhibition and adapted to current economic conditions, commenced this Thursday in Santiago de Cuba. The event aims to preserve key spaces for business dialogue and identify growth opportunities for the eastern region of the country.

The Teatro Heredia Cultural Center, transformed into an exhibition and negotiation hub, once again hosts the event, which features representatives from the diverse business models currently operating within the Cuban economic landscape.

During his welcoming remarks, the Vice Governor of Santiago de Cuba, Waldis González, described the forum as a prime opportunity to identify common interests between the region's state-owned and private enterprises, as well as potential foreign investors.

González asserted that every proposal generated during the event will serve as a seed for the sustained prosperity of Eastern Cuba, aligning with the socio-economic transformations recently announced by the country’s leadership to revitalize the national economy.

Madelaine Cortés, Provincial Director of Foreign Trade and event coordinator, outlined the forum's agenda, presented the province’s investment portfolio, and highlighted the importance of business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions alongside the launch of new local products.

The opening ceremony was attended by Yusmaikel Valier, member of the Executive Bureau of the Communist Party's Provincial Committee in Santiago de Cuba, and Maira Pérez, Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce for the country's southeastern region.
