CIMAvax-EGF is the Cuban vaccine, the only one of its kind, based on immunotherapy that allows long-term treatment for lung cancer without affecting the patient's quality of life.
This condition is the cause of almost a quarter of deaths from all types of cancer in men and women worldwide, hence this vaccine, the result of more than two decades of research, is a great ally for patients, due to the few adverse reactions it has and for being a solution to this serious health problem, even in advanced stages.
The treatment requires the admission of the patient with a companion. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly beginning with the first five doses for 14 days and a maintenance phase with re-immunizations every 28 days, which will be maintained until the patient's condition allows it.
To undergo this therapy, the patient must be evaluated by multidisciplinary teams (nationally certified and internationally endorsed) made up of internists, radiologists, pathologists, hematologists, surgeons, among others, led by a clinical oncologist, who are responsible for establishing personalized treatment, depending on the diagnosis and stage of the cancer.
