Cuba destination in Slovakia's plans

The Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies of Slovakia (SACKA) selected Cuba as the venue for its annual review of tourism activity developed during 2023, an occasion that will enable more than 70 participants in the travel sector of that Central European nation to become familiar with the Cuban destination as a “new product” for the coming 2025.

Untitled8.jpgA note published this Friday by Havanatur S.A. adds that Slovakia's awakening regarding the motivation to travel outside its borders was reactivated in 2023, post-pandemic, when some 128,000 vacationers traveled to destinations in Europe and Vietnam in Asia.

Although the Caribbean is little known among Slovaks, up to October this year a total of 5,603 Slovaks have visited Cuba, which reflects an exponential growth in tourist flows to the Island. Currently, the interest in traveling and summer vacation destinations is spreading as motivations for Slovaks, increasing the percentage of interested parties, a sign of recovery of the sector and confidence in some countries, as new or unknown destinations in comparison with the previous year, adds the information.

The relations between Slovak operators and Havanatur began with Orbis Tours, a tourism agency that participated in the Megafam 45th anniversary of the Havanatur Group last year, when it proposed to SACKA to choose this operator as the official receptive for the grand event in Cuba.

Group and the associations of operators and travel agencies of Slovakia SACKA and the Czech Republic ACCKA.

As part of the program that concludes next Thursday, the participants in the meeting will take a familiarization tour of places of interest in Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and end in Varadero, the main sun and beach destination, recognized among the ten best in the world.
