Cuban President Visits FITCuba 2025 International Tourism Fair

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel-Bermúdez visited the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba) this Friday, where he learned about various offerings from Cuban and foreign exhibitors present at the show.

In this regard, he considered that having a guest country like China has been extremely important for the success of the fair, as it has showcased its natural beauty and its historical and cultural elements in a very original way. At the end of the tour, during which he was accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and Yudi Rodríguez Hernández, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee and head of the department of Attention to Services, Diaz-Canel held a meeting with the press in which he considered the fair to be completely innovative, as it featured health, community, agricultural, and agroecological tourism.

"There is a group of designed circuits that bring this closer to Cuban localities, our geography, and the lives of Cubans in their communities," he noted. He went on to say that the sector is emphatically advocating for sustainable tourism. "A tourism that encompasses economic, social, cultural, and, above all, environmental aspects, based on which the designs of Cuban hotels and tourism products are being made," he said.

There are Cuban platforms to automate and digitize tourism services, hotels, and complete tourism products, and there are also elements of innovation in tourism. ¨I believe that one of the innovative capacities of tourism is its ability to adapt to difficult times. We are not just doing the same old tourism, but rather we have set new goals, new options, and new visions of tourism¨. he said.

The 43rd edition of FITCuba 2025, taking place at the Morreo Cabaña Complex, will conclude tomorrow, after four days of numerous activities that included conferences, product presentations, exchanges between participants, and the signing of several contracts between national and foreign companies.
