The 14th edition of the International Nature Tourism Event in Cuba (Turnat 2024) is today an indispensable support for the purposes of developing this type of vacation on the island.

This meeting will take place from September 24 to 29 in the south east of this archipelago, a region blessed by nature and which in recent years has developed travel programs very much geared towards active rest.

In anticipation, Turnat attracts 130 tour operators, travel agents and specialized journalists from 20 nations for this opportunity, many of them knowledgeable about Cuban routes and repeat in terms of their presence at such a meeting. This meeting is led by the Ecotur travel agency and the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of this country, entities that closely follow the trends on the Planet regarding nature, adventure and rural travel.

The general manager of the Ecotur Travel Agency, Raúl Naranjo, opportunely expressed his satisfaction with the development of such modalities and the increase in requests for stays on this island from travelers from all over the world. Precisely, one of the specialists who is always present at Turnat is the president of the Association of Tourism and Conservation Consultants of Costa Rica, Ana Báez, a convinced expert in these issues and who usually gives an update talk at the meeting.
Another of the advisors and lecturer on various occasions is Cuban Telmo Ledo, who has spent many years scrutinizing the plans and the places with the best possibilities for the realization of routes and excursions.

Cuba is a small country of just over 110 thousand square kilometers, and has six Biosphere Reserves, and six Ramsar Sites (highlighted wetlands). It also includes two World Natural Heritage sites and 14 Natural Parks, which supports the authorities' will to protect environmental heritage.

In particular, the south-east (Granma, Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba) has many charms that will now be available to Turnat attendees. Thus, the program includes 36 communities, 85 destinations (33 in Guantánamo, 32 in Santiago and 20 in Granma), and an ambitious plan.

Therefore, Turnat aims to highlight the unlimited possibilities on this island for nature, adventure and rural travel, something that Mintur is in charge of promoting through its spearhead, Ecotur, and the desire of human beings on the planet to be ever closer to their environment.
