The launch of new projects under a strategy focused on urban tourism will revitalize the sector in the Cuban city of Matanzas in order to exploit its potential.
According to the website www.radio26.cu, the city plans to carry out projects focused on urban tourism and nature on a small scale next year, in order to open spaces and offers for the enjoyment of both locals and visitors. The recovery of important pedestrian crossings such as Calle del Medio, Narváez, the urban historic center and Calle Laborde in the Versalles neighborhood, stand out among the actions to be carried out in line with the declaration of the city of Matanzas as a tourist destination.
Construction works related to heritage and culture are reinforced with projects for reference tourist houses, which will offer an authentic experience in the historic center, details the press.
A project that includes the offer of tourist routes through the Yumurí Valley, using the existing railway infrastructure and also developing the navigability of the San Juan and Yumurí rivers, creating new tourist routes that exploit the natural charm of the region, stand out as future new attractions for the city.
The site points out that the recovery of the IMAGEN program in the main avenues of the tourist corridor, covering the landscape from the iconic Bacunayagua bridge to the community of Boca de Camarioca, will enable a more beneficial involvement between nature tourism and city tourism.
