Sports, culture and recreation in the first Regularity Rally

The first Tropicana Classic Autos Pairing Festival (First Regularity Rally) will be held in the Cuban capital from February 28 to March 2 with the participation of classic car lovers, both national and foreign.

In a press conference, held this Friday in the Arcos de Cristal Hall of the emblematic cabaret, the director of the establishment, Joaquín Yuenking, offered the details of the contest in which the participation of around 100 cars is expected, which will travel through streets and avenues of easy access and places of historical, cultural and tourist interest in Havana.
Among the scheduled activities, a conference on the history of classic cars in Havana is planned, given by Daniel García Guerrero, director of the Automobile Museum in Cuba. The competition route is secret until two minutes before the start, when the competitors will be informed. Their teams will be made up of two crew members: pilot and co-pilot, in which the second will have the task of calculating the time and route for the development of the competition and, in addition, must know at all times the position of the team in the competition route and make the necessary calculations to determine the ideal time when they will be circulating.

The start for the first vehicle will be at 10 am and the route is expected to last approximately 2 hours. The times of each stage will be checked at checkpoints located in different places that the participants will discover as the event develops. It is an essential requirement in the realization of the Rally to respect several rules of the competition, among them the traffic laws established in the Code (Law 109), since the violation of these laws will mean the disqualification of the team.

It is important to emphasize that this event is competitive, recreational and cultural in nature, not about speed. The Rally also includes a parade of classic cars through several streets of the capital, whose award ceremony, along with that of the winners of the competition, will take place on the night of March 2 at Tropicana, during a gala dinner where attendees will be able to enjoy the magnificent show of the famous cabaret.

Also attending the press conference were Alberto Gutiérrez Alonso, president of the Club of Classic and Old Cars, Ariadna Viña, Commercial Director of Palmares, among other officials connected with the event. The event, organized by the Club of Cuban Classic Autos, has the collaboration of Cubasol, Cubadeporte and Tropicana.
