The Third International Transport Fair Opens Its Doors

The Third International Transport and Logistics Fair (FITL 2025) opened this Tuesday at the Pabexpo venue in the capital, with the presence of Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.

feria1-1r.jpgSpeaking at the opening ceremony, Cuban Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila emphasized the importance of the event, taking into account the country's need to recover these activities and develop them toward new horizons. In this regard, he noted that population mobility is fundamental, and the recovery of public transportation is essential. "We also know that positive performance of the entire economy, in general, is preceded by development in transportation and logistics, so the responsibility is greater.

Last year, we were able to indicate the public transition for public transportation," he stated. He later reaffirmed the country's commitment to advancing development, for which it has a transportation and logistics infrastructure program integrated into the National Economic and Social Development Plan for 2030.

This program includes projects in all modes of transportation, which authorities and business organizations will explore in depth in working sessions over the next few days. He cited as examples the new ambulance service implemented in the capital, the electric tricycles to support passenger transportation in most provinces, and the production of electric eco-taxis in Sancti Spíritus. "We have no doubt that at the next fair, we will see the realization of many more projects that will be developed in this third edition," he emphasized.

Regarding the latter, the following will be announced: Project Portfolio: Modernization and Expansion of Terminal No. 3 at José Martí International Airport; Administration of the In-flight Catering Activity; and a Project for the Construction of a New Facility, among other topics.

Likewise, topics related to sustainable passenger and cargo mobility, modernization of transportation and infrastructure, and energy transition, among other aspects related to the sector, will be discussed. Conferences, panels, and exchanges will also be held between the attending professionals from Cuba and several other countries.

Also present at the opening day were members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba, national and international exhibitors, as well as directors of various provincial transportation entities, among other national officials.
