Much has been said about which are the best tobacco brands in the world.

Undoubtedly, specialists always mention Habanos, and it is safe to say that all of them are unique for their tradition, origen and taste, since the 27 brands that make up the portfolio of Corporación Habanos S.A. are protected by the D.O.P. seal, stamped on all boxes by the &Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Protegida Habanos y otras Tabacaleras Cubanas" (Regulatory Council for the Protected Origin of Habanos and other Cuban tobacco) since 1994.

The brands comprise a wide range of concepts, formats, flavors and positioning. Accordingly, they are classified into Global Brands, which include the six most relevant and well-known brands for aficionados, in a variety of formats, and the so-called Portfolio Brands, which include the so-called High-Value Brands, with a wide distribution, interesting portfolios and are widely used in Habanos Specialties. There are also the Volume Brands, which offer excellent value for money, and the rest of the Portfolio Brands, with a broad group that includes different proposals in terms of flavor, strength and price.
For those who intend to get started in the exclusive world of cigars, we recommend six brands, considered the best. The first is undoubtedly Cohiba, created in 1966, and unique amongst Habanos. Three of Cohiba’s filler leaves undergo an additional fermentation. This unique process produces a special aroma and flavor that can only be found in Cohiba.


MONTECRISTO
Next on the list is Montecristo, created in 1935. It is named after the title of the famous French writer Alexandre Dumas’ novel &The Count of Monte Cristo." Made with leaves coming from the region of Vuelta Abajo, in Pinar del Río.


H. UPMANN
In third place, the experts propose one of the oldest, H. Upmann, created in 1840 by the brothers August and Herman Upmann. It offers the smoker a blend of musk, wood and roasted coffee aromas.


ROMEO Y JULIETA
Then, there is Romeo y Julieta, founded in 1875 in honor of the iconic play by English writer William Shakespeare.


WINSTON CHURCHILL
Due to their somewhat classic flavor, they were the favorite of Winston Churchill.


PARTAG&AáS
Last but not least comes Partagás. Created in 1845 by Jaime Partagás, it is renowned for its character cigars, which when smoked are considered a fascinating experience, as their flavor and aroma improve with each puff of smoke.


HOYOS DE MONTERREY
Another possible brand for beginners is Hoyos de Monterrey, with a mild strength that makes it an attractive option for those who like a less delicate and aromatic Habano, with great elegance and complexity.
