Alain Pérez, passionate about music

The author of numerous popular and innovative songs, with his own approach and sound, the multi-instrumentalist Alain Pérez, a well-known Cuban, prefers music with Cuban roots, such as bolero and son.

Also linked to the world of jazz, Alain Pérez is a prominent bassist, percussionist, keyboardist and singer, but also an arranger, producer and musical director.

His talent and versatility have led him to work with Cuban groups and artists of the stature of Irakere and Chucho Valdés, Los Van Van, Issac Delgado y su Grupo, Paquito de Rivera and Celia Cruz, among others.

In Spain, he was the bassist of the legendary guitarist Paco de Lucía for a decade, and alongside the Maestro he also had the opportunity to work with important jazz figures such as Chick Corea and Winston Marshall. There he collaborated with other outstanding artists and fell in love with the magic of flamenco.

Among the awards received throughout his career is the Latin Gold Award 2022 for Best Producer and Composer, in the 7th edition of the prestigious Spanish awards, and the previous year he won a Latin Grammy in the category of Best Traditional Tropical Album for the album ‘Cha cha chá: homenaje a lo tradicional’, by Orquesta Aragón, together with Issac Delgado.

His discography is extensive, he champions his Caribbean island’s rhythms unconditionally, and he has a deep passion for music, a universe in which Alain Pérez is one of the true greats.
