It’s been 50 years since Cuba and Guyana established diplomatic relations, beginning a half century of friendship and collaboration. In that time many developments between the two countries have created unbreakable ties.
Health, culture, sports and the economy are areas of life where relations grow stronger every day. The latest example is the birth of the CubaPLUS Guyana Magazine, whose first edition you hold in your hands.
This publication, presented at the 38th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022) which takes place from November 14 to 18 after a two-year hiatus, is a full-throated exponent of the importance of these ties for both states.
An exciting novelty of FIHAV 2022 will be the participation of Cuba’s new economic actors – the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (Mipymes) and non-agricultural cooperatives – some of which we write about in this edition.
But you will also find articles celebrating the wonders in both these spectacular nations, in food, nature, medicine, culture and business. Guyana and Cuba are countries united by a desire to promote development, to improve the live of their people.
