GuyExpo 2025, Guyana’s largest trade exhibition, commenced this Thursday at the Sophia Exhibition Centre in Georgetown. Under the theme “Transformation Through Entrepreneurship and Innovation,” the event features 297 exhibitors and 305 booths.

Born seven years ago from the close bond between architecture and design, Textura has carved out a strong place in the national market. Beyond handbags, earrings, hats, and accessories, they also create home décor pieces such as lamps, doilies, rugs, and baskets, among others.

Under the theme "The Pathway to Success: Guyana 2030 and Beyond," the International Building Expo 2025 is taking place from Thursday to Sunday at the National Stadium in Providence, on the banks of the Demerara River, a few kilometers from Georgetown. International airport Cheddi Jagan will become the epicenter of direct flights between the Guyanese capital and London in the United Kingdom, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Toronto in Canada and New York in the United States.

For Abel Stokes, a young Guyanese musician and singer, being born in a music-loving home was what drove him from a young age to dedicate himself to learning the art of singing and playing an instrument. This dedication has led him to become a prominent artist in his country. “I was inspired by my parents’ love of reggae music. My father wanted to be a singer but he didn’t achieve his dream, however my love for music is what made me pursue it.
