Four more Guyanese doctors have just graduated from the University of Medical Sciences in Santiago de Cuba and returned to their country to provide services in the development project ONE Guyana.
According to information released on the Facebook page of the embassy of that country in Havana, the graduates achieved an average grade of 4.5 points (of a maximum of 5), while Dr. Shemar Rock achieved 4.98 to be recognized as the best student in graduation from that center of higher education.
Guyana's ambassador to Cuba, His Excellency Halim Majeed, recently visited his country, occasion that served to authenticate the Academic Certificates and other documents of the doctors. All the recent graduates arrived in Havana in August 2016 with government scholarships of Guyana and for three years they studied at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) before enrolling at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba, where they remained from September 2019 until July of this year.
The graduates expressed their gratitude to the Government of Guyana for having had the opportunity to study in the largest of the Antilles, through the scholarships awarded.
Congratulations and wishes for great success in your career to all graduates and future work as medical professionals.
