Guyana joins the global biofuel alliance

The initiative received support from within and outside the G20 group of nations and marks a major step forward in advancing the deployment of biofuels through a multi-stakeholder global alliance.

The press release, issued by the Indian High Commissioner to Guyana, highlighted that so-called "Fuels for the Future" was one of the top priority topics at the Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting in Goa. The meeting was attended by the energy ministers of 13 countries and the heads of nine international organizations such as the Biofuture Platform, the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Energy Forum, the International Renewable Energy Agency, the World Bank, the World Biogas Association and the World Economic Forum .

The attending authorities highlighted the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who is giving renewed impetus to collaborative efforts and knowledge sharing on the world's green energy path, the Guyana Chronicle reported.

According to the World Biogas Association, only two percent of garbage is now recycled and this lack of recycling in edible products increases methane emissions, so international entities have increased their interest in helping the coalition.
