Nature and adventure, culinary products and cultural and heritage experiences are included in the 15 new offers that the GTA will make available to national and foreign vacationers starting next August.
The information, released by the Department of Public Information (DIP), cites statements by Kamrul Baksh, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), who stressed that these tourist products and experiences will provide local and international travelers with a variety of benefits of 'Destination Guyana'.
While some of these products will launch later this year, GTA will take full advantage of hosting Caribbean Premier League (CPL) cricket matches in Guyana to make them available during the Cricket Carnival celebrations, it added.
We have used the first half of the year, the official continued, to do all the evaluations and trainings with a view to launching those products in the month of August, before the Cricket Carnival, which begins in mid-September.
During this time, a large influx of visitors is expected, so the GTA is preparing a series of attractions that will add to the existing ones.
The recently launched Product Development Grant in the amount of up to GYD 1 million (USD is GYD 210.1845) is primarily intended for tour operators who are already licensed, as GTA seeks such new products to be created by professionals who are aware of traveler safety requirements and rules.
