Canada at FIHAV 2015

Many Canadian businesses are gearing up again this fall to participate at the upcoming 33rd edition of the Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV) to be held at the Expocuba fairgrounds from November 2-7, 2015. The most important Cuban commercial event of the year gathered more than 1,000 companies from 46 countries last year. Canada's participation was also significant with 51 companies registered as exhibitors and 31 more sent delegations of professional visitors. We expect Canadian companies to show up again in big numbers this year to learn about new business and investment opportunities and to sign contracts.

Canada at FIHAV 2015Cuba has been consistently in the news for good reasons during the last couple of years with its efforts to revitalize its economy and diversify its economic partners by gradually moving towards a mixed-economy that is more market-based and decentralized, a movement that was already well under way before Presidents Barack Obama and Raúl Castro made their historic December 17 announcement. In this context, it is no wonder that Cuba is generating so much excitement and interest amongst business people these days as they understand that increased opportunities also means more competition. Come on over, the race is on to establish and consolidate business presence on the Island!
